Second Street Church of Christ

Pulaski, Tennessee

Extensive interior and exterior renovation

Brindley Construction embarked on the extensive refurbishment and restoration of this 8,810-square-foot wood-framed church. The Brindley team helped guide church elders through multiple design iterations to find ways to affordably address each area of need.

The focal point of the church’s interior transformation is its new, modern sanctuary. Numerous walls were relocated and existing spaces were altered to incorporate new office spaces, a nursery, bathrooms as well as expand the church lobby. The project’s scope also included significant mechanical upgrades, including LED lighting, new electrical service and control panels, as well as a heating and cooling system, complete with new units and duct work.

This project was awarded the 2017 Project of the Year Award and Regional Excellence in Construction Award for Institutional Projects Less Than $5 Million by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of North Alabama and the 2017 National Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction for Institutional Projects Less Than $5 Million by ABC.

“The job superintendent demonstrated exceptional skill as he worked with far less than an ideal starting point on the job, requiring multiple decisions to be made ‘on the fly’ as unexpected situations arose during demolition. He was successful in addressing each challenge and did so within the confines of a limited budget.” - Mark Hayes, Church Elder
